Two Lives

Now wasn't that a really long period to stay away from my dear blog! Its been almost a month since I published my last post. Well, here I am, back to my dear old college after a month long vacation of full-on fun! That was life...comfort, money, cars and old friends! All that i could ask for!

But now I am back. Tell you something...it feels really bad to leave your home behind and head off back to your college, espaecially if its in a city like this ( you know which!). But once you are back, it doesn't feel so alien after all! You are back with your new gang of friends and are ready to live an entirely different life, funny and adventureous in its own special way!

So its back to those late night long chats and purposeless walks, to those silly but unforgettable pranks and hungry nights. Its been only two weeks here and I already have losened my pocket off some hefty amount of money ( I won't tell the amount either, 'cos my dad also knows about this webpage!). I think i've finally started liking this part of my life too! And why not? This is something really awesome and definitely unforgettable.

Well I guess thats what they mean when they say: Two lives!

Venting Out The VJ In Me

Well, I've been saying a lot about me being a big music lover and adding videos and all to this blog. Clearly, I wasn't able to do that for a long time. But today, finally putting off my laziness, I sat down to add some of my favorite music videos here. And I did. But somehow, I didn't like the feel of it. I just didn't seem to like the way the whole thing looked.

So, thanks to the great thinker and innovator in me, (what are you laughing at, huh?) I came up with this :

Yeah! I now have another blog especially for putting on all the coolest videos I like. I can now add not few, but a whole lot of videos over there. So there you have it, a dedicated vblog. I've added it to the blog list, as you can see. I've started off with some english videos and a really mindblowing performance by michael jackson. So, what are you here for now? Just check it out.

Prime Time!

Poof ! Where's all the choclate gone? and the party? Where's the...oh! Another dream! Its 11:00 am in the morning. Half awake, I grab the television remote and switch on the tv.
11:30 am : I am still searching for something sensible to watch but in vain...so I just switch over to mtv.
11:45 am : Now, I am finding it really hard to watch the same movie clips again and again and i am struggling to keep my interest.
11:50 am : click! I switch off the tv and turn on my pc to check my mail and all.

Well, the idiot box cannot do more justice to its name, 'cos its REALLY IDIOT! I mean, I just can't seem to find anythng sensible enough to watch. The biggest criminals are the news channels, especially the hindi ones. Somehow, they just seem to have run out of news. They show all types of crap; astrology, ghostly stories, spiced up small incidents...Why can't these gyus use their brains and come up with something even near to sanity. I mean, come on! The last thing we want to see on a news channel is a ' baba's ' astro-gyan on why is Delhi having early monsoons!

If you thought that wasn't crazy enough, check out our 'supposed-to-be entertainment' channels. What's happened to them? I bet you can't find anything except those creepy family dramas, with creepier women and even creepier background scores...aaaaahhhhh!!!

And by the way, you must have noticed the latest trend by now, haven't you? Those talent hunt sops? Well, it statrted off with indian idol. Ok. Then came one more. Ok. But now, the tv is flooded by these shows, with every channel coming up with its own 'version'; like there's any difference! Somebody needs to tell them to stop otherwise every other Indian will start to think he's a KK or Sonu Nigam. And we don't want to see them out of business, do we?

The only little something I get on the television comes courtesy mtv, channel V and other like music channels. Atleast they are doing their job! But how long can one listen to the same songs and videos again and again?

So guys I think I've had enough of this crap. But what can I do? My dad doesn't own the Star Network or the Aaj Tak. Guess, I'll have to wait for the next good movie they are showing on HBO. Until then, its happy blogging for me!

Back Again!

Phew! Lemme catch a breath...boy, have these been the busiest vacations of ma life! Its been two weeks since my vacations started and I haven't had a single day to just sit down and relax. First of all, I get this shocker from my friend on just the second night - "Training starts tomorrow morning, 9:30 am. Be ready!". Wow! Some start!! So, its office every morning for me, and I am like "there goes my sweet little vacation". However, I didn't let it last too long. I quit it in about 10 days. So much for learning! And it wasn't just the training, there were a lot of things that hooked me up, but lets just forget all that.
I barely got the time to occasionally check my mail and orkut, what to say of publishing a new post. But today, finally, my day has come! Its raining beautifully outside and the weather's so nice. There's a glass of coke by my side and the internet speed is no more sloggy. It's not hot and sticky anymore, its not that usual steel chair I am sitting on. Its not Chennai any more and its not room no. 410....I AM BACK to where I belong...."home sweet home".
There's nothing to worry about, no deadlines, no exams, absolutely no tension! Now I am starting to feel the winds of the holiday season...and believe me, I am all ready to blow out with them.

The Black Hole

Its 5:30 in the evening, and I have just woke up. Well, I had this semeter exam today. Talk about sucking the life out of anything, well the exams do just that to me. A month long of semester can send chills down any engineering student's spine...but what really cracks one is semesters getting over in just 15 days.

One might think, what? Are'nt 15 days of working better than a month long toil? Well you know what, that is precisely how we console ourselves. Let me explain...

There's this completely dusty book shelf, with even dustier books, like they have'nt been touched ever before. Then suddenly some guy reaches out for a book lying way down under the burden of other more frequently used things...because he has a semester exam or something after a few days. Now he has to complete all that tech stuff in just 2 days. Imagine, a full 5 month course in just 2 days...yeah! That is when he starts to hear that awkwardly familiar cracking sound.

So, being a normal to-be engineer, I have to go through all this...just cram, study, derive, solve; every wicked task in the world of education. This normal hu-man turns into a bat-man, sleepless nights, sleepless days and a world full of villianous subjects to defeat. Its in times like these that you feel like you are standing near a black hole...something sucking the energy out of you, and you just can't run away. You have to go in there and get out of its back...

So finally when I come out of this black hole, i have nothing in me to do but sleep...sleep till I can. Then I wake up, relax for sometime and now I am writing this post. But wait, something's pulling me...I am being sucked in...Oh, there's another black hole waiting for me...10 more days to go before I get out of all this...and then head straight for my refuelling zone...my home!!!

The First Post...

Browsing through the net some time back at my place, searching for more music as always, I came upon this certain blog with links to some ( actually a lot ) of my favouriate songs. I was really impressed and that was when this idea of creating my own blog started swirling around in my head.

Being one hell of a lazy person when it comes to sitting and doing something, it took me almost three months to get that idea on to the world wide web. But actually I am not the only one to blame...a lot of credit for this 'delay' goes to my hostel's sloggy wi-fi speed and wonderful access restrictions. So finally today when I had nothing else to do ( though my semester exams are going on), and my sweet little wi-fi connection is miraculously working at its full capacity, I got down to write this one down.

Well though this is my first time at blogging and this right here is my first ever post, I am already thinking of all the things I could include in it, there's just so much of it! But one things for sure...I am definetely going to put over some really good music in here. This comes first to my mind partly because I am a big music buff and partly because the speakers in my hostel room are rocking at their full pitch as I am trying to write this down.

But I am sure of one thing that I am gonna do with this small webspace of mine...share with all you out there the happenings ( and a lot more of mishappenings!), experiences and my life at the hostel. The long days in a hostel, the longer nights, the funny side of everything, the longing to get back home and then the one to get back to your hostel again everytime...everything.So you are going to find a good long first hand narrative of a hosteller's life. By the way, I am going home after the semesters on the 31st of this month!! yipeeeee!!!!!!!

But be rest assured, thats not the only thing you are going to find here...there's gonna be a lot more, I promise ( just hope I sit down to update more often!). Well, my wi-fi connection is slowly coming back to its creepy old form. So, I better end this one right here and quickly post it up...
